I respect people's right to their religious beliefs. But that doesn't mean that I have to have any respect for the actual beliefs themselves. At the moment there is a cultural backlash against the muslim religion - with a great deal of criticism aimed at its particular attitude towards issues such as gay rights and the rights of women. But what about the christian religion which has shaped so much of our own culture? The Bible is chock full of absolute rubbish which sees women as second class citizens, and advocates the death penalty for homosexuality and adultery. Such bigotry has no place in today's world. Any positive message that could be found in it is so wrapped up in a warped sense of morality, that it becomes worthless in a modern, tolerant, open-minded society. In this age of reason we should have no need for such ancient doctrines on how and how not to live - they tie us to a past in which people lived in fear of challenging established beliefs and leaders. It's a past we need to leave behind.
lyrics
Jesus was a hero to many, but he didn't mean shit to me - just another walking rule-book telling me how my life should be. You may say the Bible offers many relevant lessons and solutions, but this is my fucking life that I'm living, so let me draw my own conclusions. Jesus was a hero to many but he didn't mean fucking shit.

Dead Cross, Retox, and Qui members dish out subversive hardcore with an indignant smirk; come for the riffs, stay for the synth experiments. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 31, 2024
