It’s unbelievable to me that some people become so divorced from the reality of everybody else’s lives that they feel that the enormous salaries and bonuses they’re paid are acceptable. Even if we weren’t in a current financial depression, the amounts paid to top executives and bankers would be an obscene insult.
We’re often told that if we’re not prepared to pay such huge sums to these greedy shits then they’ll go elsewhere - move abroad to where they can earn the “market rate” for their supposedly invaluable and unique skills. Well, why don’t they fuck off then - see if anybody cares. Society cannot afford to keep a selfish few in a life of obscene luxury while other people struggle.
