about

Established political and economic orders have always sought to placate their populations and buy off revolutions. People feel trapped in a rat-race of earning and spending – quite literally just cogs in a wheel who are dulled into submission by being drip-fed consumer goods.
This manufactured apathy, along with a general feeling of powerlessness and insignificance, crushes people’s hopes and dreams that things can be better. It’s so very easy to go with the flow and accept what you’re told rather than challenge the way things are. Those who are discarded by the system – who have nothing to lose – may have an anger and desire for change, but they are the most powerless of all.
Change can only be brought about by the active involvement of those who are not absolutely desperate – those who can materially survive, and perhaps even prosper individually the way things are, but who dream of something better for all. Change will only occur when we’re not just looking out for ourselves, but when the well-being of others is also seen as vital.
And change requires people who are prepared to be active – to do what needs to be done, and say what needs to be said. For too long opposition has been stifled by fear of losing what we’re allowed to have, rather than being inspired by the possibilities of how things could be. We can be the antidote if we refuse to be bought.

lyrics

Change requires the presence of active ingredients who are willing to challenge what’s accepted as fact. But our stagnation’s the result of inactive greedy ants who sit back and consume feeling powerless to act. How do you see yourself?
