We need more honesty in this world. We are surrounded by bullshit - in the media, in politics, and in our general popular culture. So many inane concepts have crept into everyday thinking and become accepted as the norm, without, it seems, anybody questioning them.
TV is full of celebrities of its own making, who’ve never done anything noteworthy enough to deserve such attention in the first place. Conventional economic ideas go largely unchallenged in the mainstream - even though they’re plainly failing to distribute even the bare essentials to everyone. And politicians seem to think they can keep reinventing themselves as new and fresh, even though their ideas are just repackaged versions of what we’ve had for decades.
Remember the little boy who saw that the Emperor’s New Clothes were just an illusion? We need to all take a leaf out of his book.
