about

The idea that there is a "god" is preposterous. There is not a single thing in life which requires the existence of a god to explain it, nor for which a god would be a more plausible explanation than any other.
Yet here we are in the 21st Century with significant chunks of our society, and vast swathes of the global population, for which their belief in a god is the cornerstone of their lives. People live in fear of god. They oppress others because of their belief in god. And the state gives special privileges to religious belief, and rams it down the throats of children in schools.
A few thousand years ago, before the advances of science, it’s understandable that people came up with the idea of a god to explain the world we live in. But now that concept is as outdated and unnecessary as the one which stated that the Earth was flat.
A couple of years ago, a campaign slogan was put on buses which read "There’s probably no god. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life." I thought that was great. But I don’t know what the word "probably" was in there for.

lyrics

You can’t see the wood for the trees. If you prey, there’s no-one to hear. Get up off your knees - stop living your life in fear. There is no god. Got that?
