about
What is it that makes some people willingly subordinate themselves to religious leaders and their supposed superior moral guidance? A cursory look at the history and practice of all religions is enough to dismiss any notion that they occupy a moral high ground.
Religions throughout the world have largely been spread by force and conquest, and religious authority has historically been maintained through the persecution of non-believers and by utilising fear, rather than any altruistic spreading of enlightenment. In countries where religious persecution is no longer acceptable it’s no surprise that the influence of religion is rapidly declining.
Yet still there are many sheep who feel safer in a flock – being told what to think, and putting their trust in others to guide them through life on the basis of ancient books full of mumbo jumbo. Well, if that’s their choice then they’re welcome to it – just don’t try to force this nonsense on me.

The clergy take the roles
Of the shepherds of our souls.
It’s arseholes who are drawn to it
And arseholes who let them do it.

Dead Cross, Retox, and Qui members dish out subversive hardcore with an indignant smirk; come for the riffs, stay for the synth experiments. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 31, 2024
